Next up: Svalbard!
Easter is coming up, and while other Norwegians are busy planning their traditional vacation in the mountains with easter egg painting, skiing contests and easter lamb, we are excited about our upcoming trip to Svalbard! Nina has been there before, but for me this is my first time. We’ve already booked our Airbnb together with our Swedish fellow travellers, Marie and Magnus.
During the annual festival of crime fiction a couple of weeks ago (Krimfestivalen) I was introduced to the author of “Storebjørn” a crime book set in Svalbard. Perfect literature to prepare for this trip! I hope our trip is a little less exciting though!
So, what to do in Svalbard? We only have five days, so it is important to plan the itinerary. Of course we will go dog sledding. I’d like to ride a snowmobile as well, and lucky me; my former colleague, Ove, has moved to Svalbard and offered to take us out on a trip.
It is no secret that we enjoy wetting our whistles once in a while, so Svalbard brewery is scheduled. Amazing that they have their own brewery, but they do, and the beer isn’t bad either.
Although brands may be mentioned, this post is not sponsored in any way.
