Update 30. Sep: Can ChatGPT finance our adventures?
Early morning is when I do my best thinking (or not…), and this September morning I thought:
- What if I leave the thinking to ChatGPT, along with 10,000 NOK?
I gave my digital little friend the following prompt (Deep Research mode on):
Prompt to get ChatGPTs Deep Research to find the stocks that will return the highest profit in six months
My friend gave me a surprisingly solid analysis, with proper references and all. Still, his tendency to hallucinate — combined with the extremely convincing way he can make mad ideas sound sane — worries me a little. Should I trust Chat blindly? Anyway, here was his suggestion: (date: 23. September 2025):
ChatGPT gave me a concrete portfolio with a solid argument for why each stock is included
I decided to look into the fundamentals and the technical analysis for these stocks, as I’m not inclined to give Chat my complete trust yet. I won´t go into the details. They are very different companies but in their category - they all look good. And technically? Well, if you believe in that it seems like the sky is the limit.

OK! So far so good! Now I just have to be alert and on the lookout for the sales triggers! Or do I? I asked Chat:
ChatGPT promises to keep me informed in case I need to rebalance or sell. It seems to good to be true…
I wonder if this will work at all? It really does seem too good to be true… I´ll update this post regularly, so let´s see during the next six months!

I just received email from Chat with notice that there are no triggers to report today. Imagine if this really works! 🤑
Update 30. September:
At 0830 on the dot this morning, ChatGPT sent me a triggerwarning by push notification 😬. I am stoked to see how this works! Knowing when to sell stocks has always been the hardest thing for me when trading. Having an assistant that can be trusted to report triggers would be amazing.
What did Chat say? Well, it turned out to be a partial warning for FRO based on a Reuters report on soaring rates (wohoo!). However, we need to wait for the stock to gain 15% in one week before we sell. Hence, the recommendation is HOLD.
